Three 6 Mafia in the trailer

Juicy J and his people (who preferred to remain anonymous) were chillin in the trailer about 20 minutes before showtime.

He was wanting to know where his ‘cue was (are you the Rendezvous man? he asked me). I told him I heard that the caterers had been given orders to come up with 11 vegetarian and 2 vegan dishes for Three 6 Mafia.

He looked at me like I was crazy. And showed me a Mrs. Winners takeout box.

Maybe it’s for 311 in the adjacent trailer. Makes you wonder what zany complications might ensue for anyone mixing up the two groups. Hmmm.

Anyway, I’ll post a video shortly of Juicy J talking about the show and what he’s got coming up.

Chile’s rock/funk lads

Chancho en Piedra is a witty, fun-loving rock/funk group from Chile that rattled the BSMF Saturday afternoon. They’re riding high, having earned the cover of May’s Rolling Stone Latino edition and are celebrating their 15th year together. Here’s a video with them just before they went onto the Cellular South Stage, and they talk about barbecue, pigs, what their name means, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

At the Blues Shack

James ‘Super Chikan’ Johnson was about to go on and was busy dealing with sound issues. But he took a moment to remind me I hadn’t done my homework cause I thought he was playing there all weekend. Doh. Richard Johnston — who IS here all weekend — explained to the small but faithful crowd that all would be well with the world. In his words, “Don’t worry about it.”
